I was born and raised in Cincinnati and have lived there for nearly all my life.  I grew up in Springfield Township near the Winton Woods Park.  I attended the Winton Woods Public School District until the 9th grade, when I moved to Anderson Township.

After graduating from Anderson High School I moved to Washington, D.C. to attend college.  I received an academic scholarship to American University, where I studied International Relations, with a concentration in East Asian Studies and economic policy.  At AU, I had enormous opportunities to study, gain experience, and explore the world.  I worked for a highly regarded international marketing firm, interned with the U.S. Department of State, and taught English language courses in China.  I was able to graduate from the Honors Program in 3.5 years and continued on at a job working for an attorney who specialized in Veteran’s Law. 

The attorney I worked for had a practice which focused on Veteran’s Law.  As a paralegal, I got to help veterans navigate the unnecessarily complex VA system.  During this time, I researched case law, filed motions at the VA, and helped manage the office.  I also was able to communicate with numerous veterans about their claims.  As a paralegal, I was admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, one of the few federal courts in the nation that admits non-attorneys.    

At this time, I fell in love with the law.  More importantly, I also fell in love with helping people.  After realizing the satisfaction of helping a veteran or a widow gain much needed and deserved benefits, I knew that I wanted to practice law.  I am a strong believer that the legal system is meant to right wrongs and generally works.  The best thing about being an attorney is providing clients with solutions to whatever problem they are trying to solve and then seeing how that solution can be a positive force in their life.
